The Senior Fire Alarm Technician is a motivated, organized, and personable individual willing to contribute his/her experience and expertise in the area of inspections, service & maintenance and installation of fire alarm and life safety systems. The Senior Fire Alarm Technician is a team player and a vital member of WCFP’s Team. Organization and accuracy are key factors with respect to correspondence, and paperwork.
WHAT WE OFFER
- Full time, long term position.
- Salary – $25.00 – $30.00/hour depending on experience and qualifications.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct periodic inspections, testing, maintenance, and repair of all fire protection equipment according to Company, AHJ, NFPA, and ULC requirements. Complete deficiency repairs resulting from the inspections.
- Sprinkler system periodic inspections, full trips and flushes, and small maintenance projects (pipe repairs, etc.)
- Installation of Fire Alarm equipment for both conventional and addressable systems, including installing modules to terminating zone /circuit wiring
- Maintain up to date knowledge of all applicable products, Building / Fire Codes and Standards
- Assist management by providing technical recommendations to produce quotations, and make recommendations to clients regarding deficiencies to ensure system meets code compliance.
- Accurate and timely completion of inspection reports and other relevant paperwork as per company and ULC Standards
- Perform Emergency Service Call-outs as part of a regular rotation both during and after-hours
- Troubleshoot and provide solutions to service related problems
- Plan work with Service Manager and coworkers to meet customer demands
- Supervise and train Junior Technicians
- Maintaining a clean work environment within the shop, service vehicles and customer locations
- Must maintain a high degree of quality work and organization
- Participate in training and off-site industry certifications as requested
QUALIFICATIONS
- Ideal candidate will have a minimum of three (3) years fire alarm field experience, with knowledge in BC Fire and Building Codes, NFPA, ULC and CSA standards. As well as a strong knowledge of sprinkler wet and dry valves, fire Pumps and standpipe systems
- ASTT certified in related disciplines as a Fire Alarm Technician is an asset
- CFAA Registered technician in good standing is an asset
- Experience with trouble shooting, fault tracing and field repairs
- Ability to produce concise, accurate work orders and inspection documentation
- Self-motivated individual who can take on a leadership role in a fast pace team environment.
- Strong communication skills and customer service focus
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Valid driver’s license with clean abstract
- Ability to lift equipment and tools up to 50lbs
- Ability to climb ladders

Journeyman Sprinkler Fitter

The Sprinkler Fitter/Service Technician is a motivated, organized, and personable individual willing to contribute his/her experience and expertise in the area of inspections, service & maintenance and repairs of sprinkler systems, backflow preventers, fire alarm and other life safety systems. The Sprinkler Fitter/Service Technician is a vital member of WCFP’s Team. Organization and accuracy are key factors with respect to communication and paperwork.
